Success for Security Dog Delta

I have previously written about the breathtaking olfactory capabilities of our security dogs, and I am delighted to share a real-world story of how one of our dog handlers was able to identify, apprehend and safely manage six intruders.

Tasked to protect a challenging disused estate, Security Dog Delta and her handler were carrying out a regular patrol when Delta indicated that they were not alone. Having scaled a wall on a remote part of the 26-acre site, six young urban explorers had attempted to conceal in the undergrowth. Unfortunately for them, Security Dog Delta knew - despite being over 150-yards away.

Fixed on the scent of the intruders, Security Dog Delta led her handler to the six suspects. Having tracked them down, she indicated where they had concealed themselves and issued a very vocal warning. All six suspects surrendered, allowing the security team to safely escort them from the site, capturing their details and liaising with the police.

Fortunately, the six suspects had the sense to follow the instructions given by the dog handler, meaning no-one came to any harm. However, be in no doubt, if they had demonstrated aggression or failed to comply, Security Dog Delta would have no hesitation in responding appropriately and definitively.

Thanks to our excellent training and the continual development of our security dog and handler teams, we can have absolute confidence in our dogs' ability to determine a threat, and respond accordingly, while not recklessly 'engaging' with a suspect. Disappointingly, the police did not attend for these six suspects. Still, we are confident they will not be returning as one close shave with Security Dog Delta is quite enough for any young urban explorer.
