Locked in a car park at Basing Lime Pits or Crabtree Plantation?

Code 9 Security’s Patrol Officers carry out a foot patrol around the main areas of Lime Pits and Crabtree Plantation. They will, where reasonable, give advance notice of the gates being closed. Regrettably, we cannot guarantee the security officer will find you, nor should you rely on them doing so. It is your responsibility to ensure you vacate the car parks before they close at 20:00.

If, however, you get locked in at Basing Lime Pits or Crabtree Plantation, you can make arrangements for a security officer to attend to open the gate for you. Unfortunately, there is a charge of £50 to cover the costs of providing this service. If you would like us to reattend, please click "Arrange Now” to request a security officer attendance.

Alternatively, if you do not need to release your vehicle, the barriers will be re-opened at 06:00 each morning. There are no charges for parking overnight, but vehicles are left at your own risk.

Note: We do not have any discretion in administering the service charge to assist in recovering your vehicle. You will need to make payment through the online portal when arranging for the car park to be unlocked to let your vehicle out.

Next Steps

Once you have made your payment using the online portal, please get in touch with the Code 9 Security Control Centre on 03332 420 620, who will be able to dispatch a security officer to assist you.

Note: Security Officers will not be able to take payment from you. Payment must be made through the online gateway. Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted.

I don’t want to pay the £50 charge to recover my car, what can I do?

With regret, we do not have discretion on the release fee. This fee is agreed upon by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and covers the costs of deploying a security officer out of hours to assist you in recovering your vehicle.

There are no exceptions to this policy.

The car parks are clearly signposted and these signs are checked on a regular basis. It is your responsibility to ensure you vacate the car parks no later than the posted closing time. If you use the car park after this time, you are doing so at your own risk and you accept your vehicle may be locked in the car park.
